So, I saw the first painting, “Wanderer Above the Sea of Fog” by Caspar David Friedrich, in class a while back, and I knew that it looked familiar.
Cue David Tennant in a picture that was clearly modeled after the Romantic painting mentioned above. I am both proud and ashamed to admit that I knew about David Tennant and his random photographs that float around the internet before an era of Romantic painting. Oh well.
Then, I was thinking that the figure in the original painting is vaguely reminiscent of Sherlock—the long dark coat, an overcast sky and the ledge in the Hounds of Baskerville episode.
Yep, Benedict Cumberbatch and David Tennant are Wanderers.
